The history of the Willow Creek Community Hall began in 1900 as a one roomed school. The school district of Willow Creek (S.D. 529) was registered January 4th, 1900 by the Government of the Northwest Territories. The first teacher was Miss Clara Kent who was paid $45/month. In 1917, it was decided to build a 6 stall barn that parents could lease space from the board. An addition was also completed in 1920. At the time there were 55 students across 8 grades in the one roomed school. The school received a renovation in 1937. In 1938, Willow Creek School District was transferred to Clover Bar School Division under the consolidation of School Districts program. Classes continued until June of 1951 after which students were bussed to Calmar School.
